TIGI Backstage Heroes Season 2 Concludes

Mohammad Amjad was declared ‘Champion of the Season’ at the recently concluded TIGI Backstage Heroes Season 2 event in Mumbai. The grand finale of the hairstyling competition showcased the hairstyles created by budding hairdressers and stylists, at the Four Seasons in Mumbai. 

Over 3000 hair stylists from across India had applied for this year’s contest. 250 shortlisted contestants were then put through a training program conducted by TIGI Global Ambassadors, giving them an inside look at the latest cut, colour and style techniques. Based on their training, the contestants resubmitted their entries and the top 25 were selected to further compete for the grand prize. The finalists in each of the 6 categories were given a theme to work on. 

The Grand finale of TIG Backstage Heroes Season 2 was judged by Gen Itoh – TIGI APAC Creative Director, prominent hairstylist Savio John Pereira, Mehernaaz Dhondy – Editor, Grazia, and Andy Cheong – Regional Education Director TIGI Copyright Colour (Asia). The finalists impressed the jury with sleek waves, sassy bobs, pop of colours, and majestic updos, born out of their skills and creativity. Mohammad Amjad of Salon 11 from Jalandhar, Punjab emerged the ultimate champion of the season and will soon embark on a 7-day all-expenses-paid trip to the TIGI Academy in London where he will undergo a 5-day training program.

  • Street Style: Mohammad Amjad
