A New Year Resolution by Shahnaz Husain
Shahnaz Husain, a pioneer of the Beauty and Wellness movement in India, shares a new year resolution:
“It’s time to say goodbye to 2019 and look forward to a new sunrise and new challenges! The year closes with my visit to London, where I attended the Indian High Commission’s celebrations of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Guild Hall, London.
We have had a great year of achievements, especially in terms of international recognition. Continued international branding will be very much on the cards during 2020 and I will be taking India’s herbal heritage to every corner of the globe.
My resolution for the New Year is to continue our work for the physically challenged and the underprivileged, in terms of beauty training for their financial independence and self-reliance. We are providing free beauty courses for the speech, hearing and visually impaired, as well as acid attack survivors. We will also continue our work in Government Skill Development Projects for underprivileged women in the beauty & wellness sector. We have seen how their training can be used in terms of a sustained and self-reliant income model.
I pray that we can touch more and more lives in the coming year! I also resolve to consolidate our global success during 2020, extending our franchise salons, retail outlets and beauty training academies worldwide, so that I realize my dream of seeing India leading the international cosmetic industry with Ayurvedic plant power.”
