BKCCAD Presents Makeup Class with Dominique Roberts

Blossom Kochhar College of Creative Arts and Design (BKCCAD) – India’s first and only academy to receive IMA recognition – recently hosted a professional makeup training class by award-winning artist Dominique Roberts, to provide international exposure to their students. The event held in New Delhi saw Dominique demonstrating several trend-setting looks in the presence of academy students, budding makeup artists, and media professionals.

Dominique Roberts is the OMC World Champion 2018 and OMC Europe Champion 2016  in Bridal Makeup. He is a highly respected global makeup trainer with his speciality based on Russian Aqua makeup technique, Ukrainian pencil technique, as well as gel, cream, and acryl techniques. He is an expert at combining the influences of these popular makeup techniques.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Blossom Kochhar, the chairperson of Blossom Kochhar Group of Companies said, “We are delighted to announce our association with International Makeup Association. We have many other international associations; this is another very prestigious association which adds to our bouquet of distinguished certification standards that we follow at BKCCAD.”

Samantha Kochhar, the Managing Director of Blossom Kochhar Group of Companies added, “It has been my endeavour to bring international level education for Beauty and Hair in India. We started with our first International Association with Pivot Point in 1984 and have never looked back since. IMA has 16 schools worldwide including the famous London School of Make-up and now BKCCAD. It is the very best and we are very happy to have brought it to India”

IMA was found in 2000, with the aim of centralizing and promoting the makeup artists, to give specific makeup techniques and what the industry required. IMA standards are offered in certain schools around the world including European countries like London, Spain, Holland. Many make-up artists made a beeline to the European countries to get IMA certified. The agreement between BKCCAD and IMA was recently signed in the month of April.

Mr Bernard from IMA who is also the owner of London School of Make-up said, “Although many schools and colleges had approached us, what interested me about BKCCAD is that the management understands the profession and can create makeup artists for the industry. The IMA qualification takes you through different stages of becoming a make-up artist from the basic of understanding colour to applying make-up to interacting with clients and promoting oneself as a make-up artist. Basically, you cover every aspect that takes to be a successful, international, makeup artist.”

He further added, “IMA Certification holds a certain standard to itself when it comes to choosing the institutions that can become IMA certified. So you can be assured that any school that IMA has chosen to be a centre is of the highest quality in terms of makeup education.”

BKCCAD has started the admission process for enrolment in courses of hair, makeup and skin.
