Beauty has its Field Day
IndiaSkills 2024, the national skills contest that took place from May 16th -19th saw over 900 candidates, including 170+ women, showcase their skills in 61 diverse categories , from 30+ states at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, Delhi.
The event concluded with award of 74 Gold, 67 Silver, and 73 Bronze medals for excellence in respective skills areas to deserving participants from across India.
In the Beauty & Wellness industry the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council, the nodal agency to develop and impart skills in the Beauty & Wellness industry, managed the competition in 3 skills: Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, and Yoga.
20 States & UTs participated in Beauty Therapy skill along with 2 wild card entries from Assam & Odisha, thus taking the total participation in Beauty Therapy as 22. Pritisha Barman from Assam won the Gold, Rojalin Brahma from Odisha took the Silver, and Tahesin Sutarr from Maharashtra earned a Bronze medal in Beauty Therapy.
In Hairdressing, Yash Chavan from Maharashtra secured Gold, Aryan Sen from Rajasthan claimed Silver, and Avni Sharma from Odisha and Karishma Das from Bihar tied for Bronze.
In yoga, Elanthendral MS from Tamil Nadu bagged the Gold Medal. 3 winners tied for Silver Medal – Madhu Mohan from Karnataka, Ayush Mishra from Chhattisgarh and Pranav Aher from Maharashtra. Pranshu Gahlot from Rajasthan won the Bronze Medal
The gold medal winners in Beauty Therapy & Hair Dressing will now be trained under the Chief Experts of the respective skills & would also get to learn from the top industry leaders onwards to represent India at WorldSkills2024 in Lyon, France from 10th to 15th September’2024 .
