B&WSSC signs MoU with CIDESCO
B&WSSC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CIDESCO, YOGA Alliance International, Rayat Bahra University and Brainware to increase global footprint and mobility.
In a move that would bolster overseas employment opportunities for trained Indian workforce in beauty and wellness industry, Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC), under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), at its recently concluded Annual General Meeting in New Delhi.
The first MoU was signed with CIDESCO, an international body, considered the world standard for beauty and spa therapy.
The MoU will enable the candidates in the field of beauty and spa to get dual certification, which will be recognized across 60 countries. This is a significant move to help take SSC certificate across the globe.
The MoU was signed by Anna Curi Gund, President CIDESCO International and Vandana Luthra, Chairperson, Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council.
Commenting on this development, Vandana Luthra said, “I am extremely excited about the new association. This association will not only help to establish service delivery parameters, but also bring about a uniformity in our trainings, along with helping in knowledge exchange between India and other countries. Not only will this greatly benefit the industry but also help get global recognition to the students trained in Beauty & Wellness in India, truly making India the “Skill Capital of the World.”
While adding to this Anna-Cari Gund shared, “This MoU will help in fast tracking India’s mission to produce world class beauty professionals. We are delighted that CIDESCO is part of this mission. The CIDESCO International Board and CIDESCO Section India are proud to be working together with this superb team.”
Another MoUs signed included MoU with International Yoga Alliance and White Lotus. The MoUs will facilitate the training and assessment of the international candidates of Yoga in China, Malaysia, Africa and Europe, as per the standards created by B&WSSC in Yoga.
B&WSSC has also signed a MoU with Rayat Bahra University for launching the Beauty & Wellness B.VoC programs in Skin & Hair at their Ropar campus. Post that, the course will be rolled out across their other campuses.
Another MoU signed was with Brainware University, West Bengal, Phalguni Mookhopadhayay, Chancellor, Brainware University, signed the MoUs with B&WSSC. The agreements will facilitate the launch of Beauty Courses in the university, providing an opportunity to the candidates to secure a Degree in Beauty & Wellness.
