Professional Beauty Mumbai

The 25th edition of Professional Beauty attracted over 1,9142 trade visitors and featured 500+ brands under one roof. Here’s the post show round-up.

Professional Beauty Mumbai, part of the Professional Beauty Global Group with over 14 exhibitions hosted around the world broke all records for a show in South Asia. The show brought over 170 exhibitors together, 500+ brands and a mammoth footfall of 1,9142 trade visitors at Bombay Convention Centre on October 1-2.

In addition to Associate Partner Ikonic and Official Make-up Partner Kryolan, new brands showcasing themselves included: Andis, Brand You, Cirepil, Dyson, Enail Couture, Gatsby, Hairmac, Mirabelle, LuxaDerme, Niconi, Nish Hair, Ozomax, Pepco, Shangpree, Streax, Swiss Beauty, Uroparis and Zanya Wellness, amongst others.

Professional Beauty Mumbai played host to a number of product launches such as CVedaa – Care through Ayurveda range and a deep nourishing and tightening Chocolate Peel off Masque by Christine Valmy, Pure Pigments Metallic by Kryolan, Transen for cellulite treatment and Vitasi for anti-ageing treatment by Dermagnetic, a range of face washes and gel waxes by Gatsby, Protective Styling, a new hairstyling range, by Eslabondexx, Matrix Gel nail designer by Bluesky, semi-permanent make-up pigment by BBC and 5 star clipper range by Wahl amongst many others.

Live in action

The 2- day expo had the Demo Stage, where live hairstyling shows were conducted by different experts in front of hundreds of delegates. Some brands like Ikonic had its own designated area for hair shows. Make-up booths by brands like Kryolan and Temptu, became action hubs as visitors lined up outside them to watch and learn bridal, party and editorial make-up techniques from celebrated make-up artists.

Salon India

Professional Beauty also hosted Salon India for its third edition. It had hair maestros such as Seema V. Jerajani, Founder, SVJ Academy; Savio John Pereira, Founder, Savio John Pereira Salon; Nayana Karunaratne, Chairperson, Salon Nayana Chain of Salons and SN Academies in Sri Lanka & India; Michel Baltazar of Jean Claude Biguine Salons, Julia Siira of Streax Professional and the Olaplex team.

Salon Management Congress

The Salon Management Congress (SMC) powered by Zenoti returned with its third edition. Targeted at salon owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, SMC brought seasoned business leaders from salons and beauty brands from across India on a common platform to share their experiences of managing salon businesses. Some of the topics under discussion were celebrity client management, women empowerment, role of technology, generating finance to scale up, staff attrition and retention and much more. Experts on various panels of SMC included Adhuna Bhabani, Asha Hariharan, Arpita Das, CK Kumaravel, Pushkaraj Shenai, Rekha Chaudhari, Miriam Mathew, Natasha Nischol, Samir Srivastava, Sachin Kamat, Sunita and Mukul Pawar, Vikram Bhatt and Vipul Chudasama, amongst others.

Cosmetics Ingredients and Packaging India Show

Professional Beauty added another exciting feature for the industry with the launch of the Cosmetics Ingredients and Packaging India Show (CIPI). The Show had Sensorial Lab, Packaging Clinic and the CIPI Summit with speakers discussing various aspects of this niche.

Some of the topics discussed were Insights on FDA Regulations by Dr Gahane, Joint Commissioner, FDA Maharashtra; Certifications that add to brand value by Nikunj Harlalka of CG Herbals; Bar Codes by Subrata Dey of GSI India, amongst others.

As the largest show ever seen in South Asia, PB Mumbai 2018 was the perfect way to have the beauty professionals to congregate and be inspired as the industry hits its peak business season. The PB team now look forward to building bigger and more innovative shows in 2019 for the industry across different cities.
