The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2025, Celebrates 25 Years Milestone

The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (KGAF) in Mumbai is completing 25 years this year. The event will take place this year from 25th Jan- 2nd Feb. 

This year’s highlights include an opening with Silver Sitaare Fusion, a  performancenshowcasing 25 dance styles, bringing together 55 renowned artists and institutions who have been part of KGAF’s legacy.
also will be released the KGAF Anthem by acclaimed composer Shantanu Moitra and a commemorative Coffee Table Book, encapsulating the journey of the festival  with contributions from eminent personalities like Brinda Miller, Ranjit Hoskote, and Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

The cultural schedule will have an amalgam of events :

Theatre – productions by stalwarts like Makarand Deshpande, Juhi Babbar, and Aakarsh Khurana, alongside innovative works from Utopia Communication, Anjor Communication, and many others.

Literature – sessions led by likes of Devdutt Pattanaik, Gurcharan Das, and Jerry Pinto. From explorations of mythology to modern queer narratives and poetic journeys through the by-lanes of Kala Ghoda

Stand-up comedy with Shreeja Chaturvedi and Kumar Varun’s ‘Kvizzing with the Comedians’.

Dance, has acclaimed performers, including Aditi Mangaldas, Padmashri Narthaki Nataraj, and Prachee Shah Pandya.

Food segment  featuring the Chefs of Kala Ghoda with RPG Foundation and a special celebration of Om Puri’s legacy with a screening of The Hundred-Foot Journey and a fireside chat with his family and friends.

Brinda Miller, fine artist and the director of the Kala Ghoda Arts festival says “For 25 years, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival has brought out the best of Mumbai’s creative spirit, giving all kinds of artists and art forms the platform and freedom to express, engage, and inspire. We’re delighted to present the Silver Jubilee edition – standing testimony to the incredible past and present of the festival, and an even greater future – for our shared heritage, diverse arts and celebrated culture.” 

Architecture and design conversations bring together  names like Abha Narain Lambah and Sarah Sham, while music tributes and dynamic installations will further bring in focus historic venues like Afghan Church and Hamilton Studios.
